Visitor Center El Valle
Discover the extraordinary El Valle and Carrascoy Regional Park
It is located six kilometers from Murcia and, because its rich landscape and environmental, it is an excellent place to get to know one of the most important natural jewels of the city: the Regional Park of El Valle and Carrascoy.
El Valle: An location of ethnographic and cultural interest
El Valle Natural Park, six kilometers from Murcia, extends through the Sierra de Carrascoy and its foothills. For its landscape and environment, it is an excellent place of recreation and contact with nature. The vestiges (Argaric, Iberian, Roman and Arab) left by its inhabitants throughout history, as well as the religious tradition in its places, make the Valley an enclave of ethnographic and cultural interest.
Visitor Center El Valle: discover all the flora, fauna and geology of a unique place
Visitor Center El Valle, combines sustainable development, nature conservation and public use to promote information on the environment and shows the main values of the flora, fauna and geology of the Park, as well as the marine fossils discovered in that area. It has a guided tour service with four tours (three exterior with a certain duration and one in the Center itself).
El Valle: Special Protection Area for Birds
The Valley is declared a Special Protection Area for Birds and has a Recovery Center for birds of prey and protected species, from which specimens of wildlife that have been damaged or threatened in their habitats are monitored, investigated and treated.
Very close between the Visitor Center and the Wildlife Recovery Center is the Arboretum
The Arboretum is an old forest nursery, today converted into a botanical garden, which allows to know the plant diversity of all the climatic regions of the planet. In order to get to know it, the visitor will be able to walk through its 8 terraces freely. The Arboretum has an area of 1.5 hectares, in which there are currently more than 600 plants of 108 different species.
