Visitor Center La Luz
Discover a Natural Park just 7 km from the city
The Center is located in a modern and functional building of almost 1000 m2 of built surface, fully integrated in the landscape, perfect to know the Natural Park of El Valle.
A centre that is part of its environment
La Luz Visitor Center is fully integrated into the landscape thanks to the materials that configure it. Being immersed in a place with views of interest in all directions, it has been conceived externally as a privileged observatory, as its interior design is planned based on an interior route to show how much interest there is and was in the area. The space is distributed over three floors:
Ground floor: Exhibition space dedicated to different thematic and historical axes.
First floor: Audiovisual room.
Second floor: Panoramic terraces.
Get to know El Valle in the permanent exhibitions
The protected area of El Valle-Sierra de Carrascoy and its natural and heritage resources can be seen in a global and didactic. Then, visitors will access the exhibition area, articulated in three thematic axes on the history of the environment: "El Valle de los Íberos", "Medieval Fortifications and Spirituality" and "the Silk in Murcia".
A walk through the history of El Valle natural park
The spatial and chronological journey begins with the Iberian world, highlighting the antiquity of the human presence in this place, from there you access the spiritual world of hermitages, convents and shrines that were emerging around the caves and ridges of the area to end with what was the most important industry in Murcia from the 16th to the 19th century, the silk production process.
Currently the Visitor Center of La Luz houses the Business Essay School in Restoration.
