Bars and Pubs
In the city centre you will find a wide variety of bars and pubs
The Pérez Casas area, located on one side of the Gran Vía de Alfonso X el Sabio, is a select environment in which to have a quiet drink, dance, or sit on one of its numerous terraces. It is common to go there in the evenings to enjoy the traditional Murcian "tardeo". Boga Bar, Bar Altea, Lola Club, Black Crow or Chinatown are some of the places where you can enjoy a good atmosphere in this area full of pubs.
In the Nueve Pisos area, located in front of the Palacio de San Esteban, there are also several entertainment venues with a lively atmosphere. The 9 Pisos is another place where you can have a drink, cava, wine, champagne or international beers. It is located in the remains of an old 16th century convent, on the ground floor of the Nine Floors building, considered to be the city's first New York-inspired modernist skyscraper. It is also home to the Alter Ego, with an outstanding menu of beers, cocktails, special gin and tonics and coffees with shows and monologues by the best comedians from Paramount Comedy. Nearby, in Plaza Condestable, behind El Corte Ingles, there is another classic, Plaza 3, and around Plaza de las Flores, among its streets, there are also several very popular bars such as "609 seisceronueve" or Classcentro.
‘The taverns’ is another typical area for going out in Murcia, both in the evening and at night. Located in the heart of the city centre, in the surroundings of the Merced Campus of the University of Murcia, you will find many bars frequented by young people and university students. Around the Plaza de Europa and in the streets of La Merced, Enrique Villar and adjacent streets, the best music is played in rock or indi bars, and there are also several beer bars where you can enjoy the evening and the nightlife in Murcia. Just a stone's throw away, in the Centrofama area, is La sala Rem, with live music and drinks, and Luminata Bar y Disco, a cosmopolitan discotheque and venue and one of the meeting points of the nightlife in Murcia.
