Cathedral Museum

Since 1957, showing the world the secrets of one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Christendom

Currently in the Museum of the Cathedral it is possible to walk through one of its galleries, admire the frescoes that decorate its walls, visit its chapels, the oldest of the Cathedral, and observe the foundations of the major mosque through a glass floor.

The tour of the museum makes the visitor know the works of the most important collection of sacred art in Murcia

The tour is driven by an interesting explanation that allows you to discover all the life they enclose. A space full of history and modernity where paintings of the Italian trecento, paintings by Luca Giordano, and impressive sculptures by Francisco Salzillo, are some of the works exhibited along with delicate textiles and beautiful pieces of silverware.

The latest remodelling has brought to light some incredible new findings

A wooden, metal and glass walkway allows to visualize the archaeological remains found in the subsoil giving an idea of the constructive evolution over the centuries. The museum's stone walls, as well as some vaults and arches, housed unpublished decorative elements that have been restored.

Guided tours in which you can also climb the Cathedral tower

The entrance to the museum also allows you to choose to tour the Cathedral of Murcia, as well as climb the tower, an impressive experience where history, art and a unique panorama of the city are combined. The tower allows to discover the grandeur of its construction, jewel of the Renaissance and the Baroque, accessing the hall of secrets, the chapel and balcony of the spells and the bells.
